along with publishing chapbooks, woe eroa will be publishing a journal (inconsistently). there is phenomenal critique occurring in marxist circles of poetry, both in essays and poems, and this journal presents a space to gather the work of our time. we will pay contributors what we have accumulated on the patreon at the time of publishing after production/printing costs. the movement currently toward a Benjaminian authorship in literary production is a necessary development, and woe eroa is aimed in this direction. that is not teleological, but to acknowledge our historical predecessors and contemporaries who have allowed and continue to allow the neoliberalization of poetry and the arts we must act accordingly and with history. that is to say, this is not the poetry foundation, this is not a ruth lily grant, a national endowment of the arts, this is not for your if you’re interested in career poetics. this is militant poetry, a poetics whose gravity hangs on marxism and critical theory. the left has been hollowed out, the literary establishment can too easily co-opt revolutionary aesthetics. we refuse reification. this is acid poetics, an articulation of the moment through our art and work. art is congealed labor time like anything else, and even if we don’t have much, you will be compensated for your labor.
